About the practise founder
"I’m Nicholas Russell, a counsellor with three years’ experience working with neurodiverse students who are navigating social and emotional challenges. I support children and young adults, as well as their families, to build confidence, resilience and a stronger sense of self. I work virtually through video conferencing software or by mobile phone call.
Together, we set clear, realistic goals and work step by step. Sessions are collaborative, respectful and tailored to each person’s strengths, interests and needs, so they feel heard, supported and confident in achieving their goals".
My Approach
My approach focuses on small, practical changes that make everyday life easier. I work with each child or young adult to:

Improve daily habits and routines
-
Build skills for managing emotions and stress
-
Understand their own thoughts,
-
Develop strategies they can use at school, at home and in the community
-
I use a range of evidence-based therapies, including:
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Solution-Focused Therapy
-
feelings and experiences
Qualifications
I draw on formal training in both mental health and wellbeing:
-
Diploma in Counselling (CHC51015)
-
Certificate IV in Mental Health (CHC43315)
-
Certificate III in Fitness (SIS30321)
This mix of counselling, mental health and fitness helps me look at the whole person – their mind, body and daily life.
